Hard-coded list item in SELECT

A SELECT on a named list item breaks or silently changes when that item is renamed or deleted, so hold the item in a settings line item and use LOOKUP.

What MaxCheck detects

A [SELECT: List.Item] that picks a named list item. SELECT on Time, Versions or a technical list (TECHNICAL_LIST_PATTERNS: a TCH, SYS, TECH or Technical token, or 99.xx numbering) is allowed. When the same item is selected in 3 or more line items, S_SELECT_REPEATED reports it instead.

Why it hurts

The formula breaks or silently changes when the item is renamed or deleted, and the dependency isn't visible in the data.

Example

Taken from the rule's own test cases: formulas it must flag, and formulas it must not.

HintFlags this(list item)

Revenue[SELECT: Products.Widget]

Fine (time)

Revenue[SELECT: Time.Jan 24]

How to fix

Put the item in a line item formatted as the list (in a system or settings module) and use LOOKUP: with it.
